- Rider weight, bike details and performance requirements reviewed
- Fork model, damper type and current settings recorded
- Damper function and adjusters checked before tuning
- Damper cartridge removed if the complete fork is supplied
- Damper dismantled and existing valving inspected
- Compression and rebound valving modified to suit the agreed tuning requirements
- Damper reassembled and torqued to manufacturer specifications
- Damper vacuum-bled with fresh oil, where possible
- Damper function and adjusters checked after tuning
- Recommended starting settings provided
Custom Tuning vs Damper Servicing
Custom tuning changes the internal damper valving to suit your requirements. A standard fork damper service maintains the existing tune while renewing the damper oil and seals.
Before You Book
Please provide your ready-to-ride weight, bike and fork model, current settings, usual terrain and what you want to improve. Be specific about issues such as harshness, fork dive, support or rebound control.
Additional Servicing & Upgrades
If servicing, replacement parts or an optional tuning upgrade are required, we’ll discuss them before proceeding unless the work falls within the allowance selected when booking. If no relevant allowance was selected, or the cost exceeds it, we’ll seek your approval first.
Sending the Damper Only?
If you are sending the damper cartridge without the complete fork, please add a Fork Damper Service to your Fork Damper Custom Tuning booking.
Fluid Focus Damper Upgrades
Looking for more performance from your fork damper? We offer Fluid Focus high-flow piston and re-valve kits for compatible FOX and RockShox fork dampers.
These kits can be fitted during a Fork Damper Service. We’ll confirm compatibility before proceeding. When we install a Fluid Focus kit, we’ll deduct the custom tuning charge from your Fork Damper Service price.

Queenstown Workshop & Nationwide Service
Drop off your fork or removable damper cartridge at our Queenstown workshop, or send it by courier from anywhere in New Zealand. Book before sending your suspension.

Courier Or Drop Off
Courier your fork or removable damper cartridge, or drop it into our Queenstown workshop. If sending only the damper, add the Fork Damper Service.
Tune & Return
We confirm the tune, carry out the agreed work, test the damper and prepare it for return.
