At CJSuspension, we specialise in professional mountain bike and motocross suspension servicing, repairs, performance upgrades and custom tuning.
Founded by Cam Johnson in 2015, CJSuspension has grown from a small home-based workshop in Alexandra into a specialist suspension workshop based in Queenstown.
Our goal is simple: improve the performance, reliability and feel of your suspension so you can get more from your bike.
Meet Cam Johnson
From Blueshark and Fox Suspension to CJSuspension
Cam's experience in the suspension industry began in 2007 while he was still attending high school. During the school holidays, he worked for Blueshark, the company operating as New Zealand's Fox Suspension distributor, before joining the business full-time at the age of 17.
From 2007 to 2014, Cam worked at Blueshark across the Fox Suspension side of the business, developing extensive hands-on knowledge in suspension servicing, fault diagnosis, repairs and performance tuning.
After leaving Blueshark in 2014, Cam continued expanding that knowledge across all major mountain bike and motocross suspension brands and founded CJSuspension in 2015. His approach remains practical and performance-focused: understanding not only how suspension works internally, but how every change affects the bike and rider on the trail or track.
Built through riding and racing
Workshop knowledge backed by real-world riding
CJSuspension was created from a genuine passion for bikes, racing and suspension performance.
Cam progressed through the junior downhill racing categories and into Elite-level competition, racing throughout New Zealand and internationally. These experiences built a deeper understanding of bike setup and the importance of correctly serviced and tuned suspension.
One of the highlights of his riding career was winning the Crankworx Whip-Off competition in Les Deux Alpes, France, in 2013.
That combination of technical workshop knowledge and real-world riding experience remains at the heart of CJSuspension today.
