Jack Derry | Suspension Technician

Jack joined CJSuspension in May 2025 and works mainly on the mountain bike suspension. With experience as a bike mechanic and a passion for all things MTB, he loves helping riders get their bikes perfectly dialled in.

Outside the workshop, you'll usually find Jack riding up hills, hitting local trails, or ripping around on his XR100. His time spent riding gives him valuable real-world insight into how suspension setup affects bike performance and helps him understand exactly what customers are looking for.

Jack enjoys taking suspension that comes into the workshop and making it perform better than new. He approaches every job with care, precision, and a strong focus on reliability and performance. Whether it's routine servicing, a full rebuild, or helping solve an issue you've been having on the trails, Jack is always happy to help get you back riding at your best.

Originally from Argentina, I moved to Queenstown a few years ago because it’s hard to beat if you’re into riding bikes.

I’ve been riding mountain bikes for over 15 years and working as a bike mechanic for the last 10, so bikes have pretty much always been a big part of my life.

Suspension is where my real passion is, and I love helping riders get the most out of their setup. Whether it’s dialing in a fork, tuning a shock, or chasing that perfect feel on the trail, I’m always keen to get things working just right.

When I’m not in the workshop, there’s a good chance I’m out riding and testing things for myself.
