Coil fork conversion
Vorsprung Smashpot Installation
The Vorsprung Smashpot converts compatible air-sprung forks to a coil spring system.
Installation requires the correct Smashpot version, travel configuration and spring rate for the fork and rider. Internal parts are installed using the specified procedures, and the fork is checked for correct travel and operation.
The returned setup includes a recommended spring configuration and baseline damper settings where applicable.
Select the correct spring
Smashpot Spring-Rate Selection
The correct Smashpot spring depends on rider weight, bike weight distribution, fork travel, riding style and terrain.
A spring that is too soft can create excessive sag, dive and bottom-out. A spring that is too firm can reduce grip, sensitivity and usable travel.
Accurate rider and bike information is required before the spring is selected. Preload and hydraulic bottom-out settings are then configured around the chosen spring.
Air-spring performance
Vorsprung Secus Installation
The Vorsprung Secus changes the behaviour of compatible fork air springs through an externally mounted air-volume system.
Correct installation includes confirming fork and air-spring compatibility, selecting the appropriate configuration, installing the components and setting the initial air pressure and volume arrangement.
Previous fork pressure and volume-spacer settings may no longer be suitable after installation.
Air-piston upgrade
Vorsprung Luftkappe Installation
The Vorsprung Luftkappe replaces the original air piston in compatible suspension forks and changes the balance between the positive and negative air chambers.
The fork air spring must be disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt with the correct Luftkappe model. Air pressure and volume setup are then adjusted to suit the upgraded spring curve.
Installation can be combined with a fork service when the suspension is due for maintenance.
Fork damper tuning
Vorsprung Fractive Installation
Vorsprung Fractive components are used in compatible fork dampers to alter compression or rebound behaviour.
Installation requires damper disassembly, inspection and selection of an appropriate tune for the rider, fork and intended terrain.
The damper is rebuilt with fresh fluid and checked for correct adjustment operation after the approved components and tune are installed.
Rear-shock damper tuning
Vorsprung Tractive Installation
Vorsprung Tractive components are used in compatible rear shocks to improve the relationship between damping control, support and impact response.
The correct internal tune depends on the rear shock, frame leverage, rider weight, spring system and intended use.
Installation is completed as part of a damper rebuild using fresh fluid, correct bleeding procedures and final pressure and adjustment checks.
Complete coil rear shock
Vorsprung Telum Installation and Setup
The Vorsprung Telum is a high-performance coil rear shock available in compatible eye-to-eye lengths and stroke configurations.
Installation includes confirming frame compatibility, shock size, stroke, reservoir and spring clearance, mounting hardware and spring requirements.
The shock is fitted with the correct hardware and spring, then configured with practical baseline damping and preload settings. Custom tuning can also be completed through the Vorsprung Tuning Hub and CJSuspension workshop process.
Check before ordering
Telum Frame and Spring Clearance
Matching eye-to-eye length and stroke does not automatically confirm that a coil shock will fit the frame.
Reservoir position, spring diameter, frame movement, linkage clearance and mounting hardware must also be checked through the complete suspension travel.
Frame-manufacturer restrictions and approved shock dimensions should be confirmed before the shock is ordered or installed.
Correct coil spring setup
Telum Spring Selection
The Telum requires a compatible coil spring with the correct internal diameter, free length, stroke capacity and spring rate.
Spring selection uses rider weight, frame travel, shock stroke, leverage characteristics, sag target and intended terrain.
Compatible options can include Super Alloy Racing or Sprindex springs where the dimensions and required rate range are suitable.
Model-specific tuning data
Vorsprung Tuning Hub Setup
The Vorsprung Tuning Hub provides model-specific information that can be used to configure compatible Telum and tuning products around the rider and bike.
Accurate frame, shock, rider and setup information is required so the recommended tune is based on the correct application.
Where appropriate, CJSuspension can apply the selected setup and complete further Rapid Revalve adjustments through the workshop.
Start with serviceable suspension
Servicing May Be Required During Installation
Many Vorsprung products require the fork or rear shock to be opened and partially or completely disassembled.
If the suspension is overdue for maintenance, contaminated or has worn components, the appropriate service may need to be completed at the same time.
Installing a performance product into suspension with damaged seals, old fluid, worn bushings or an existing mechanical fault can prevent the upgrade from performing correctly.
New components require new settings
Baseline Suspension Setup
The suspension is returned with recommended baseline air pressure or spring rate, preload, rebound, compression and volume settings where applicable.
These settings provide a practical starting point. Small adjustments may still be required after riding familiar terrain.
Previous settings may no longer be suitable because the Vorsprung product can significantly change the spring or damping behaviour.
Confirm the exact application
Compatibility Depends on the Exact Suspension Model
Vorsprung products are produced for specific suspension models, internal versions, production years, travel options and shock sizes.
Two forks or shocks with similar names may use different internal components and require different product versions.
Do not select a product using only the general suspension-family name. Provide the exact model, year, travel, damper or air-spring version, eye-to-eye length and stroke where applicable.
Products purchased elsewhere
Customer-Supplied Vorsprung Products
CJSuspension may be able to install a genuine Vorsprung product purchased elsewhere when it is complete, unused or in suitable condition and confirmed as compatible.
Installation charges, missing parts and warranty responsibility can differ for customer-supplied components.
Contact the workshop before sending the suspension and product so compatibility and installation requirements can be checked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Important information about compatibility, setup, servicing, warranties and sending suspension to the workshop.
Which Vorsprung product is right for my suspension?
The correct product depends on the exact suspension model, production year, travel, rider requirements and performance problem you want to improve.
How do I confirm compatibility?
Provide the complete fork or shock model, production year, travel, damper or air-spring version, eye-to-eye length and stroke where applicable. Photos can also help identify the exact version.
Is a suspension service included with installation?
It depends on the product and installation procedure. Some installations overlap with servicing, while others require a separate lower-leg, air-spring or complete damper service.
How is the correct Smashpot spring selected?
Spring selection considers rider weight, bike setup, fork travel, riding style and terrain. Accurate information is required before the spring is ordered.
Will a Telum fit every frame that uses the same shock size?
No. Reservoir, spring, linkage and frame clearances must also be checked through the full suspension travel.
Can you install a Vorsprung product I purchased elsewhere?
Potentially. The product must be genuine, complete, compatible and in suitable condition. Installation pricing and warranty responsibility can differ for customer-supplied parts.
Will I receive recommended suspension settings?
Yes, where applicable. The suspension is returned with recommended baseline pressure, spring, preload, rebound, compression and volume settings.
What warranty applies to the installation?
The Vorsprung product is covered by the applicable manufacturer warranty, while CJSuspension installation is covered by the current workshop workmanship warranty and exclusions.
How much does Vorsprung installation cost?
Pricing depends on the product, suspension model, installation process, service condition and any additional components required.
Can I send my suspension from outside Queenstown?
Yes. Forks and rear shocks can be sent to the workshop by courier from anywhere in New Zealand. Complete the booking information first and package the components securely.
