Accurate fault assessment
The Problem May Not Be Inside the Post
Some dropper-post problems are caused by installation, cable or remote-lever issues rather than an internal post fault.
Excessive seat-clamp torque can restrict movement. A contaminated or damaged cable can prevent the actuator from releasing correctly, while incorrect cable tension can leave the valve partly open.
Where the bike or complete control system is supplied, these external causes can be checked before unnecessary internal work is completed.

Additional charges may apply for cartridges, actuators, bushings, shafts, upper tubes, collars, remote cables, levers or other damaged components outside the normal service kit.
If the repair is likely to be uneconomical or requires significant additional parts, the workshop will contact you before proceeding.
Before delivery
Sending the Post Without the Bike
The dropper post can normally be delivered or sent without the complete bike.
Remove the saddle and remote cable where practical. Keep any model-specific clamps, actuator parts or small components together and package them securely.
Do not clamp or grip the sliding upper tube with tools. Protect the shaft, seal head, actuator and cable attachment from damage during removal and transport.

You can deliver the dropper post directly to the CJSuspension Queenstown workshop or send it from anywhere in New Zealand.
Clean off heavy dirt, protect the sliding surfaces and package the post securely so it cannot move inside the box. Include any loose actuator components required for testing.

How much does a dropper-post service cost?

Can every dropper-post model be serviced?
No. Some posts are not designed for complete rebuilding, while others no longer have replacement parts available. Some cartridge-based models require cartridge replacement instead of an internal service.
Can a dropper post that sinks under rider weight be repaired?
Often, but the cause must first be diagnosed. Sinking can be caused by internal hydraulic faults, cartridge failure, actuator problems or incorrect cable adjustment. Repair options depend on the model and parts availability.
Can all side-to-side movement be removed?
A small amount of movement can be normal on some dropper-post designs. Excessive movement may be improved with new bushings or guide components where those parts are available, but the acceptable amount varies by model.
Do I need to bring the complete bike?
The post can usually be serviced by itself. Supplying the complete bike can be helpful when the fault may involve the remote lever, cable routing, seat-clamp torque or installation.
